Policies

Two statements: how this site handles personal information, and where we stand on accessibility. Both describe what the site actually does today, not what a template says a site like this might do.

Privacy

This site collects almost nothing. What follows is the complete account.

What you send us on purpose

The contact form is the only place this site asks for anything. It collects your name, email address, organization, and message, and optionally your phone number, registered functions, region or market, and whether you have an active matter. Every field is voluntary — the form works with the minimum, and several fields exist only because they make the first conversation shorter.

Submissions travel through Web3Forms, a third-party form relay, which passes them to an Energy Compliance mailbox and does not retain them for us. From there a submission is ordinary business correspondence: it lives in that mailbox. It is not copied into a CRM, added to a mailing list, or loaded into a database. There is no mailing list.

Don't send confidential, privileged, or matter-specific material through the form. The form itself says so. Once we're engaged and an NDA is in place, we'll give you somewhere appropriate to send it.

What happens without you doing anything

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the request data your browser sends — IP address, user agent, the page requested — to deliver pages and absorb abuse. We don't receive that data as a report and we don't analyze it.

Typefaces load from Google Fonts. That request goes from your browser to Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address when a font file is fetched. It's the one third party that touches a visit where nothing was submitted.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies. Not analytics cookies, not preference cookies, not any cookies. The site sets none, which is why you have never seen a consent banner here.
  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no alternative analytics package.
  • No advertising or social pixels. Nothing from an ad network, LinkedIn, or Meta runs on these pages.
  • No browser storage. Nothing is written to local storage, session storage, or a local database.
  • No gates. Every whitepaper is readable and downloadable without giving us an email address.
  • No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is retained as a business record. If you'd rather we didn't keep yours, write and say so and we'll delete it — there is no system of record to reconcile, so it's a genuinely simple request to honor.

Asking us something about this

Write to [email protected] or call 763.438.4427. Ask what we hold, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it.

If this changes

The date at the top of this section moves when the substance does. If the site ever starts using analytics, setting a cookie, or gating a download, this page will say so before it happens — not after.

Accessibility

Last updated 16 September 2026

We build toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not commissioned an independent audit, so what follows is a statement of what has been done and what we know is still open — not a claim of certification. We'd rather publish the gaps than a conformance level we can't evidence.

What's in place

  • Every page declares its language and carries a single, correct h1, with headings in order beneath it.
  • Every page opens with a skip link, so keyboard and screen-reader users reach the content without tabbing the whole navigation.
  • Landmarks — header, navigation, main, footer — are real elements, so assistive technology can jump between them.
  • Every image carries alternative text.
  • Keyboard focus is always visible, and never removed for appearance.
  • Every form control has a label. Grouped controls sit in a fieldset with a legend.
  • Motion respects the operating-system setting for reduced motion. Nothing flashes, auto-plays, or moves on a timer.
  • Layouts are built in relative units and reflow to a single column, so text can be enlarged without horizontal scrolling.

What's still open

  • The whitepaper PDFs. The library's PDF editions have not been remediated for screen-reader use — they may lack a tag structure and reading order. Every whitepaper is also published as a web page, and those pages are the accessible edition. If you need one in another format, ask and we'll produce it.
  • Color contrast has not been independently measured across every element and both themes. It was designed for legibility; it has not been audited against the ratio.
  • No screen-reader testing by a disabled user has been commissioned. Structural work is not the same as lived testing, and we're not going to imply otherwise.

Telling us about a problem

If something on this site is difficult or impossible to use, we want the specific page and what happened. Write to [email protected] or call 763.438.4427, and we'll respond and tell you what we're doing about it. If you need something published here in a different format, ask — that request always gets answered.

Terms & refunds

There are none, because this site sells nothing. There is no checkout, no subscription, no paid plan, and no gated download. Nothing here creates a transaction, so there is nothing for terms of sale or a refund policy to govern.

Client engagements are governed by the signed engagement letter for that matter, not by anything on this website. If the site ever offers something for purchase, the terms will be published here first.

Nothing on this site is legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship. Energy Compliance, Inc. is an independent advisory firm, and is not a substitute for counsel of record in a contested proceeding.
